    Battle of Durazzo was fought.


    The Battle of Durazzo had the date as July 10 of the year 48 BC. in what historians have called the Caesar's Civil War. In this battle the emperors Julius Caesar and Pompey the Great Cneo on the outskirts of the city called for Roman Durazzo current Durres,

     Albania (republic in southeastern Europe) clashed. The personal confrontation of Julius Caesar against traditionalist and conservative faction of the senate led by Pompeyo militarily ended with the defeat of the Pompeian and Caesar final ascent to absolute power as a Roman dictator. 

    Caesarean victory turned the Republic into an abstraction, beginning the transition to the imperial regime that removed the power of the Senate and voting to elect the judges. At that time, except small territories as the Most Serene Republic of Venice, until the American Revolution, the world knew another self-governing nation.
